Watercolour Washes

Our John Bramston artists have been busy with water colours. Over a few weeks we have been 'building up' a watercolour landscape painting. We began with a 'wash' to create a moody sky, then added detail. I'm sure you'll agree the finished paintings are great!

Pavement drawings

We have been looking at the work of Pavement Artist, Julian Beever. He uses perspective and colour mixing to create life-like anomalies on pavements.

We have been busy creating our own works of art on the pavement.

Pointillism inspired by Georges Seurat

We have been looking at the works of artist Georges Seurat. We found out that his style of painting is called Pointillism. He uses paint in dots of pure colour and relies on the brain of the viewer to mix the colours. We were very tempted to mix the paint on the paper, and found it hard to paint only in dots. However, the results look great!

Self portraits in charcoal

Our new group of artists were eased in gently to Art Club, with an introduction to charcoal. They got very messy while working on their self portraits. I'm sure you'll agree the results are great!

Join our Art Club!

Art club will be held on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:15pm in the Reception classroom (starting from 1st October). The club is open to all juniors who fancy themselves as the next Tracey Emin, Banksy or Van Gogh.
We will investigate a whole range of materials and media, and look at works of famous (and not so famous) artists.
Please come and get an Art Club application form from me during lunch time or after school.

Blue paintings inspired by Picasso

We studied Picasso's 'blue period' and were inspired to create our own blue portraits. We observed the different tones on our faces.
